Application Nexus Team attended the first ever Joomla Day organized in India at the Pune location.
A number of sessions were held- the first session was by Toby Patterson who introduced Joomla and gave a brief idea about how joomla was evolved from the Mambo project. Then there were sessions on 'Joomla in 45 mins' and 'Request to Response'. A session was given by Toby on the Joomla MVC and development of simple Joomla 1.5 MVC component in great detail. All the sessions including 'Joomla Social networking' using components like CB and JomSocial, the crucial 'Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 migration' were interesting, interactive and very helpful to get better understanding of Joomla.
It was a first of its type Joomla community gathering in India, the team found great pleasure to be present for this event.

Application Nexus moved to a new location at Heramb Niwas with a new expanded setup and more spacious location.
The new location is more spacious than the earlier location at Gojar point. A lot of thought and ideas were given for the development of this new place. All the setup of the interiors itself took 2 months to get completed though the final result was worth the wait. The environment is very soothing and fruitful trees, so if anybody needed a fruit they could easily go and pluck one from those trees and have them. The Team enjoys being with the nature, with all the butterflies flying in the garden.
Lastly all the team at Application Nexus was happy to have a shifted to a new place with a good environment. |
Developers of Application Nexus attended the PHP Camp Pune based on the Open Souce Concepts of LAMP. The Camp aiming at bringing together the Most popular and growing PHP Community. The event was called as " Elephant Arrives". The camp had over 20 sessions ranging from PHP Security, Drupal, Joomla and other Open Source Discussions.
There were variety of sessions like, Basics of Php, Discussion on Architecture of Php, Sessions on Php based CMSes like Joomla, Drupal, sessions on concept of Open Social as well.One of the most important discussions was about Shindig and how to integrate open social apps with other social bookmarking sites.Build An App for one Social Networking Portal that adheres to OpenSocial Specifications, and it will run on all the other portals that do so.Web Application Security Presentations from Bipin Upadhyay was the most talked about sessions in the day. The pre - lunch sessions mostly were based on open socials and Cms like Joomla and Drupal.
Overall A very nice Adhoc Styled Bar camp. Application nexus looks forward to organize a similar Bar camp on Joomla in Nasik in 2009 |
